What is a vegan?
A vegan lifestyle involves avoiding all animal products, both in diet and daily life. This means not consuming meat, seafood, dairy, eggs, honey, or any ingredients derived from animals. Beyond food, vegans also steer clear of clothing made from leather, wool, or silk, and they choose cruelty-free cosmetics and entertainment that doesn’t exploit animals.
The number of vegans worldwide is difficult to pinpoint, but estimates suggest it ranges between 79 million and over 230 million people.
